One can only hope this never happens to a family who has a New Zealander who's affected by the laws in it but yes, we are excluded from this as well. Thankfully the chances of it ever happening are low but still. Another thing we or our families wouldn't qualify for under the current SCV status.
So in the unlikely event of being caught up in a terrorist attack families who are of mixed Australian and NZ citizenship would also need to deal with two different embassies if this situation were to occur overseas. I'm sure overseas embassies would be scratching their heads also if they had to do all the paperwork!
